Montessori education is an educational approach developed by an Italian Physician and Educator, Dr.Maria Montessori. It is based on self-directed activity, hands-on learning and collaborative work. In Montessori classrooms children make creative choices in their learning, while the classroom and the teacher offer age- appropriate activities to guide the learning process. Children work in groups and individually to discover and acquire knowledge and skills through exercises of daily life, sensorial activities, working on Arithmetic and language materials, including cultural areas. This Method nurtures each child’s individual strengths and interests. English medium schools are searching for appropriately trained Montessori teachers with good communication skills to work in their nursery/KG/Kindergarten sections. But there is scarcity of such trained teachers. As the majority of PPTTC/DPSE students are trained in regional language medium, they are not preferred in English medium schools. Government and aided school PTAs are also running pre-school classes attached to the primary classes. So there are plenty of job opportunities for the well trained Montessori Teachers.

In this situation and considering demands from various corners, SRC Community College is organizing two well-planned Montessori based courses—DMTT and ADMCEd.
